The concerning incident occurred around 1:00 PM on Saturday, 8 Mar 2025, at a Housing Development Board (HDB) block located along Admiralty Drive.
The girl’s precarious position on the high-rise window ledge created moments of considerable anxiety for onlookers below.

One reader described initially being unaware of what was happening until noticing officials collectively looking upward at a unit on a high floor.
Following their gaze, the reader was shocked to discover a teenage girl sitting dangerously on the window ledge of an 11th-floor apartment, with a significant risk of falling.
Officials positioned themselves strategically below, creating a notably tense atmosphere as they prepared for any emergency response that might become necessary.
Teen Taken Away by Police After Intervention
When reporters arrived at the location around 2:00 PM, several police and rescue vehicles remained parked below the building, but the girl was no longer visible on the window ledge.
She had presumably been persuaded to return inside the apartment by authorities.
Upon visiting the residential unit, reporters observed police officers questioning the girl’s parents inside the apartment.
Approximately 2:30 PM, a Chinese girl with short hair exited the unit accompanied by a female police officer.
The teenager appeared relatively composed, walking normally with no visible physical injuries.
After police completed their thorough investigation, reporters attempted to speak with the girl’s mother regarding the circumstances.
However, she became visibly emotional during the encounter, firmly stating it was a private family matter before declining the interview request and promptly closing the door.
An anonymous resident revealed that the family had moved into the HDB block several years ago but rarely engaged or communicated with neighbors in the building.
The resident specifically noted there were no audible sounds of intense arguments before the incident, making the girl’s dangerous actions particularly puzzling to those nearby.
However, residents in the vicinity speculated that what likely began as a typical disagreement between the child and her parents had escalated significantly to trigger such an extreme reaction.
When contacted for official comment, police confirmed the incident details, stating they received a formal report at 1:25 PM.
The 17-year-old girl was subsequently taken away under the provisions of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act.
