Former Acting Teacher Met Teen at Entertainment Event Before Multiple Sexual Encounters
Fang first encountered the 15-year-old student at an entertainment event on 4 May 2024, where they exchanged contact details.
At that time, Fang was 34 years old and employed as an acting teacher at First Model School, which caters to children aged between four and 14 years old.
The pair began conversing daily and grew closer, with the teen eventually seeing him as her boyfriend.
Between June and July 2024, Fang had sex with the teenager on nine different occasions. Deputy Public Prosecutor Lynda Lee told the court that Fang had unprotected sex with the teen five times, only using protection when she insisted.
The prosecutor noted that Fang met the teen alone at night each time, indicating the acts were planned.
On 6 June 2024, the teenager was checked into a hotel by her mother after contracting Covid-19.
Fang visited her around 9pm, bringing two cans of beer. He drank the alcohol after she declined his offer and proceeded to have unprotected sex with her despite her request to use protection.
This was the victim’s first sexual experience.

Less than a week later, while still under quarantine, the teen left her hotel room to meet Fang for a meal.
They were brought to his residence by Fang’s friend around midnight, where he again had unprotected sex with her.
The next day, Fang checked if her mother had discovered she had left the hotel room.
Hospital Visit and Aftermath Led to Mental Health Issues for Victim
The sexual encounters continued even when the teen was hospitalized. On 17 June 2024, while being treated for a flu infection in a private room, Fang visited her after midnight once her mother had left.
He had sex with her in the hospital room that night.

The girl later sought medical help after experiencing pain in her genitals and was diagnosed with human papillomavirus, a sexually transmitted infection.
Her mother made a police report in August 2024 after learning about the relationship.
Despite being instructed twice by investigators not to contact the victim, Fang messaged her through social media.
He asked her to call him and told her he would commit suicide if sentenced to jail.
Fang repeatedly asked the girl to persuade her mother to withdraw the charges. As a result, the teen developed depression and suicidal thoughts, eventually leading to her admission to the Institute of Mental Health where she was diagnosed with adjustment disorder.

District Judge Eddy Tham stated during sentencing: “As a 34-year-old adult man, he knew what he was doing. He knew what was likely to take place each time he visited the victim.”
The judge added that Fang had taken advantage of an emotional vulnerability and his attempt to “gaslight the victim for the sole purpose of saving his own neck” caused additional harm.
Fang was previously an actor with national broadcaster Mediacorp until May 2023.
