A Grade 11 student at a private school in Uthai Thani, Thailand, assaulted his female teacher after receiving 18 out of 20 marks on a midterm exam. The incident occurred on 5 Aug 2025.
Student’s Violent Outburst Caught on CCTV
The student had approached his teacher to question why he didn’t receive a perfect score. She explained that while his answers were correct, he hadn’t shown the working steps required by the question. Full marks couldn’t be awarded without the proper working process.
The teacher suggested he consult other teachers about the same grading criteria. After speaking with other educators and receiving identical explanations, the student returned to ask her to increase his score.
When the teacher refused to change his grade, the student became agitated. He kicked a desk and stormed out of the classroom.
Around 10 minutes later, he returned and demanded the teacher apologise to him. She questioned why she should be the one apologising.
The student paused momentarily before standing up and repeatedly punching her in the face, kicking her, and kneeing her.
He also verbally abused her, saying “You lack teaching maturity. You’d be better off as a student, not a teacher. You deserve this.”
More than 20 classmates witnessed the attack, which was captured on CCTV footage. The violence only stopped when another male teacher intervened.
Teacher Hospitalised, Student Suspended
The assault left the teacher with multiple injuries. She sustained a bruised left eye, swelling on her head, and inflamed ribs requiring hospital treatment.
The teacher filed a police report on 8 Aug 2025.
Since the incident, the student’s parents contacted the teacher to apologise for their child’s actions. The student has been suspended from school and submitted a request to withdraw from the institution.
