A private hire driver in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, found himself in a heated dispute after a passenger vomited and urinated in his car during a ride on 21 May.
The incident escalated when the intoxicated woman offered only 1,000 baht (~S$40) compensation but threatened legal retaliation if the driver pursued higher cleaning costs.
Passenger Vomits and Urinates During Early Morning Ride
The 26-year-old Grab driver picked up three women from an entertainment venue at around 1am on Wednesday, 21 May. He was assigned to drive them to a nearby hotel in Korat, the capital of Nakhon Ratchasima province.

One woman had consumed too much alcohol during their night out. She relieved herself in the vehicle and vomited across the backseat during the journey.
A strong odour filled the car, forcing the driver to pull over. When he asked if anyone had thrown up, the women initially denied it. The truth became apparent when he opened the back door and discovered the mess.
The women apologised and offered him 500 baht (~S$20) to cover the clean-up costs. The driver refused this amount, requesting 1,500 baht (~S$60) for proper cleaning expenses.
Women Threaten Driver With Legal Investigation
The passenger insisted on paying no more than 1,000 baht. She told the driver to file a police report if he remained unsatisfied with her offer.
The woman warned that if he took legal action, she would retaliate by filing her own complaint. She threatened to have police investigate his driving licence, car insurance, and vehicle tax compliance.
At the police station, the three women claimed to own a carwash shop. They maintained that the mess would only cost the amount they offered to clean.
The women told the driver he would need to sue them for additional money. They mentioned having a personal lawyer and promised to scrutinise his credentials thoroughly if he pursued legal action.
Driver Loses Income While Seeking Resolution Online
Both parties left the police station without reaching a settlement. The driver had to pause his driving jobs for five days to get his car properly cleaned, resulting in significant income loss.

He posted about the incident on the GRAB Korat Facebook page on 21 May, seeking advice from other drivers. The post detailed the women’s threats and their refusal to pay adequate compensation.
After the post gained viral attention, someone claiming to represent the three women contacted the driver. The caller said the women would pay his requested amount if he removed the post due to heavy social media criticism.
The driver refused to take down his Facebook post. He stated that since none of the women had apologised directly to him, the post would remain online.
Police acknowledged receiving the complaint and plan to summon both parties for mediation. No charges have been filed as of 23 May.
