Apart from these areas, the eastern and upper southern regions of Thailand will also have cold weather in the morning.
The weather will range from cold to very cold on mountaintops and highlands, with frost in some areas.

This cold weather is expected to last till 20 January, says Seree Supharathit, director of the Centre for Climate Change and Disaster at Rangsit University.

Kriangkrai Chaipiset, chief of Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai, says that the weather on Doi Inthanon mountain and the Kiew Mae Pan nature trail is “clear with excellent air quality”.
The lowest temperature at the summit is 5°C, with Kiew Mae Pan reporting a temperature of 7°C and 9°C at the park office.

Temperatures typically start to rise from mid-January onwards and peak between March and May, with highs of 30°C+ to 40°C+ in the central regions.
While the weather during this period is hot and humid, the popular Songkran Festival takes place around this time in April, attracting many tourists to come visit.
The monsoon season in Thailand usually arrives between the months of May and July, with rain initially coming in the form of short torrents and progressing to heavier and more constant downpours in August and September.
In the wet season of June to August, temperatures typically hover around 28°C to 34°C, before dropping drastically in the winter months of October and November.
