The Complete List of Performers For S’pore F1 2019 Including Cardi B & Swedish House Mafia

Since its beginning in 2008, the Singapore Grand Prix has been a yearly affair.

If you’re not heading down for the big race in September, I’m here to convince you otherwise.

As always, the night race would be held over 3 days; 20, 21 and 22 September 2019 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Prices generally range from S$98 to S$2,000+. Click here for the complete list of tickets.

Keep your eyes peeled as the list of teams and drivers competing this year have yet to be released on Singapore Grand Prix’s official site. According to Formula 1’s web page, the ten teams competing in the upcoming race in Australia includes Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull, Renault, Haas, McLaren, Racing Point, Alfa Romeo, Toro Rosso and Williams.

Supposedly ending in 2017, the contract was extended until 2021. We don’t know what happens after that but what we do know is the lineup for 2019.

Who To Expect

Swedish House Mafia

The group specializing in EDM consists of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. They have been in the industry since 2008 and are famous for numerous hits including  “Save The World”, “One (Your Name)” and the crowd favourite “Don’t You Worry Child”.

Fun fact: Axwell and Ingrosso were part of the lineup for Zoukout 2015!

The trio will be performing on 20 September at the Padang Stage in Zone 4.

Formed in 1994, the rock band is made up of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard. The trio from the United Kingdom has been belted out hits such as “Super Massive Black Hole” (which was featured in the popular movie, Twilight), “Starlight” and “Uprising”.

The band last visited Singapore for their concert back in 2015.

Cardi B

Does she even require an introduction?

Born in New York City, the American rapper whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar is one of the headlining acts this year.

She has been active since 2015 and is well-known for songs such as “Bodak Yellow”, “I Like It” and “Money”.

Fun fact: She first gained popularity from online platforms such as Instagram and Vine.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Old is gold, nuff said.

The American rock band (aka Legends) founded in 1983 currently consists of Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer. Apart from fan love globally, they have received countless Grammy and MTV Awards.

As seen from the photo, they are a group that knows how to have fun on and off stage. Red Hot Chilli Peppers have numerous hit songs some of which include “Californication”, “Snow (Hey Oh)” and “By The Way” – my personal favourite.

Fatboy Slim

Not to be confused with Slim Shady aka Eminem, Fatboy Slim (Norman Quentin Cook) is a well-received DJ and producer from Britain. The 55-year-old has been actively spinning since 1996 and is most loved for hits such as “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat”, “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Praise You”. He has clinched 7 awards for the music video of Star 69.

Toots and the Maytals

Toots and the Maytals are like the forefathers of reggae, best known for their amazing vocals and specialized in genres like ska and rocksteady. Formed in 1962, the Maytals defined reggae with their single “Do the Reggay” which dropped 6 years later. The lead singer, Toots Hibbert even made it to the list of 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone.

Fun fact: The group has appeared on famous programs such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.

Larkin Poe

Fronted by sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, the band was established in 2010. With strong harmonies and guitar riffs inspired by South America, it’s no wonder why the American roots rock band was labelled as the best discovery at the Glastonbury festival in 2014. Fans can expect to jam along with Larkin Poe on 21 and 22 September at Zone 1 and 4 respectively.

Hans Zimmer

Arriving all the way from Germany, Hans Zimmer is a talented composer who has provided iconic music for countless films such as The Lion King, Interstellar and Pirates of the Carribean since the 1980s. Some of the many awards received by Hans include the Oscar, Golden Globe and BMI Film Music Award.

Other artists performing include:

DJ Lizzy, Ffion Gym and Swim, J.S. Ondara, Jupiter & Okwess, Mantravine, NJWA, Glen Wee, Parekh & Singh, Raja Kumari, Swoon, Texas, Troy and Wolfgang Flür (Ex-member of Kraftwerk).

Note: All show timings are not confirmed as of 8 March 2019.

Though Jay Chou won’t be returning (at least not to perform), I’m looking forward to the lineup for this year, especially Red Hot Chilli Peppers!
