If you’re a fan of Running Man, you’ll know Kim Jong-kook: the commander who strikes fear in all his opponents. And you’ll also know that he’s a singer as well, having being part of a duo Turbo and then going solo after that.
What you didn’t know might be that Turbo used to comprise Kim Jong-kook and Kim Jung Nam from 1995 to 1997, and than Kim Jung Nam left and Mikey joined. From 1997 to 2001, Turbo comprised Kim Jong-kook and Mikey, until Kim Jong-kook went solo and the rest is history.
In other words, while Turbo has always been a duo, there have been three members of Turbo: Kim Jong-kook, Kim Jun Nam and Mikey.
So, in the end of 2015, with Kim Jong-kook’s popularity going international since Running Man (come on, admit it: you only know about him through Running Man), the three of them decided to come out with an album…with 19 songs.
So, why 19 songs?
Well, Kim Jong-kook had not had an album with his first Turbo partner since 1997, so to commemorate this, the group decided on 19 songs.
And to make it even more interesting, our favourite betrayer Lee Kwang-soo guest-stars in one of the MVs as well.
Pretty incredible, isn’t it? Bet you didn’t know about all this, and thought Kim Jong-kook’s singing was all about Loveable and One Man!
Here’s the MV that Lee Kwang-soo was in!
