Okay, here’s my confession: I know everything about Descendants of the Sun, and I know more about South Korea’s Special Forces (if the drama is based on real settings) than Singapore’s Special Forces.
Yet I didn’t know what RSAF stands for, except that it’s the Singapore Air Force (so shouldn’t it be SAF?).
And most importantly, I remember this scene.
Now, what if you can be that group of medical team as you view the helicopter flies above you, lands and out comes a Captain Yoo?
Well, to some extent, RSAF (okay, I just realized it’s called Republic of Singapore Air Force) promises re-enactments of that scene: with the helicopter, minus the Captain Yoo.
A promotion for their RSAF Open House at Paya Lebar Air Base on 21 May 2016 and 22 May 2016, the RSAF have really outdone themselves with this ingenious publicity gimmick. Especially so when the Descendants of the Sun is still hot, and every girl still thinks of marrying Song Joong-ki.
So, if you really want to experience that scene, remember to check out their Facebook Page.
You might not see Captain Yoo, but you’ll see many other Captains around!
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
