There’s A New 36KM Coast-To-Coast Trail Connects Jurong Lake Gardens to Coney Island Park

Are you an enthusiastic runner? Have you dreamt of running from the west of Singapore to the northeast?

Well, if you are, I’ve got great news for you.

Your dream of walking (or running) from the west to the northeast is now possible.

New Coast-To-Coast Trail Launched

On 30 Mar 2019, NParks launched a new coast-to-coast trail connecting Jurong Lake Gardens (previously Chinese Garden) and Coney Island.

Here’s a picture of the trail.

The trail is 36km long and consists of ten checkpoints along the route.

It also cuts through 18 parks and nature areas including:

  • Bukit Batok Nature Park
  • Singapore Botanic Gardens
  • Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park
  • & more

Augmented Reality

But the fact that you can now walk or run from one part of Singapore to the other isn’t the coolest factor.

It’s the fact that NParks are now using AR to make life interesting for Singaporeans.

Through the use of a mobile app, you can use your phone to view the virtual representation of different animals interact with them.

Kind of like Pokemon GO, if you really stopped and think about it.

And because we love to make everything a game, the app also allows you to rack up enough points and redeem rewards like discount vouchers.

New Park

Rower’s Bay is a new park launched along with the C2C Trail.

Located at Lower Seletar Reservoir, visitors can enjoy a nice stroll with a beautiful view of nearby wetlands.

But that’s not the coolest part of this new park.

Even Solar-Powered Chargers

Now, what’s one thing that scares us the most when it comes to going outdoors? Having our phones die on us, right?

With Rower’s Bay, this will (hopefully) be a problem of the past.

Within the park are shelters equipped with solar-powered USB charging points, which means your phone will never die as long as there is sunlight.

Plus, a self-help bicycle repair station too.

And why I used the word hopefully? Because you might’ve not remembered to bring your charging cable along.

So what are you waiting for? Time to bring out your e-mart running shoes and go for a nice walk liao.

By the way, they have a challenge going on that’s ending soon. You can find out more about this challenge here, with really attractive prizes like the iPhone XS 64Gb or a Samsung Galaxy S10+ 128Gb.
