Having studied in an all-girls school for 10 years, entering poly was really an eye-opener for me.
There. Were. Boys. Everywhere.
It took me quite awhile to get used to if I may add. You would understand if you’ve been in my shoes.
Unless you were one of the cool kids back in secondary school, this would be one of the first time you ever get to talk to someone from the opposite gender. No, sitting together on the bus ride back home doesn’t count. Not even when the dude’s passed out from exhaustion on your bony shoulders.
As aforementioned, all these was a lot to get used to for a very awkward me. Which is why I’ve never been friend-zoned but I am guilty of subtly doing that to a few others I met throughout my time in poly.
C’mon I’ve never experienced this before; flattered, yes but how was I supposed to react? I don’t know! Just play it dumb?
Well, anyways.
At least now you know the Friend Zone from another point of view.

What in the world is this zone which everyone dreads?
Well, according to Psychology Today, Friend Zone simply refers to “a situation where there is a mismatch in romantic feelings between two individuals.” They further explain that this tend to “occur in relationships where both individuals’ emotional needs are not getting met.” In other words, one party on the losing end; giving more than what he/she is getting.

The movie to look forward to in 2019: Friend Zone

Otherwise, Friend Zone is a romcom movie from Thailand (the land notorious for their comical movies, if I may say so myself) which tells the story of a young lad who is smitten by his best friend of 10 years and has been constantly on the move in getting her to be his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, the feelings aren’t mutual and he is the only one willing to travel miles for her.
Sounds like someone you know?
The movie is almost 2 hours long and is fronted by Naphat Siangsomboon and Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul.
Directed by Chayanop Boonprakob, Friend Zone will be released in cinemas locally on 25 April 2019.

Like all Thai movies, English subtitles will be available so don’t worry about your potential date missing the hint.
