From Meiji run, music run or even Pokemon GO run, there are many forms of runs that have been taking in Singapore, but none of them beats this run that will be happening this July.
 The Durian Run
Yup, you saw that right. As epic as it sounds, the runners will have to hold a durian while they run. And no, guys, we are not trolling you. This is actually a real event that’s going to take place this year.Â
The run will be taking place on 23 July 2017 and you’ll get to run with a durian on a full 5 km route. You can be as creative as you want in the ways you carry the durian – though safety definitely comes first!Â

The race will cost S$15, and this is a joint effort by Central Singapore CDC and Ang Mo Kio – Hougang CCC.
Here’s what you can get when you join in the race:
- 1 x Run For Good T – SHIRT
- 1 x Finisher Medal upon completion of Run
- 1 x Whole Durian
- 1 x Coconut upon completion of Run
- 1 x chance to participate in Lucky Draw Segment
Race Format
Participants are expected to collect their durians by 7.45am and ready to run with their durian at 8am. The race will be flagged off at at 8am sharp. At the finishing line, participants will be awarded a Medal, Coconut as well as the choice to open the durian by their experts.
Not bad, right? Not only can you run with the durian, you can also eat your fruits of labour at the end of the race. And no, let me clarify again – this is not a joke. This is a legit race that will be taking place.Â
As funny as the details may sound, the run is organised all for a good cause – in a big to encourage our community to contribute back to the society through healthy lifestyle habits.Â
