I eyed the packaging dubiously and inspect the unidentified object.
Call me uncultured if you must, but I’ve never tasted Peppermint Chocolate Milk before. I’ve only ever had it in solid, chocolate form.
You know, like most normal people do.
Which is probably why I was tasked to review the FARMHOUSE Peppermint Chocolate Flavoured Milk with Fresh Milk.
A 1-litre carton costs $3.30 while a 490ml carton costs $2.50. It’s also limited edition.
Whew, that was a mouthful.

Right off the bat, the packaging can only be described as ‘festive’.
There’s a red ‘ribbon’ and ‘candy cane’ string at the top of the packaging, while the rest of the carton is peppered with a reindeer, a cow and snowflakes.
Obviously you can’t forget the cow because it is after all made from fresh milk.
According to FARMHOUSE, the drink ushers in the “holiday season and is made of creamy chocolate along with the invigorating flavour of peppermint”.
It is a “concoction of peppermint, chocolate and fresh milk from Australia”.
And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for:
Taste Test
As I opened the product, I could smell the faint scent of peppermint wafting through the air.
It wasn’t overwhelming at all but was definitely a prelude for what was to come.
I unceremoniously plonk it into a glass because I literally can’t wait to try it. It smells goood.
The first sip made me go whoa. In a good way. Like whoa, it tastes really rich and peppermint chocolatey. Like really rich.
Like someone took solid peppermint chocolates and melted it down to make this drink. Wait, did that actually happen?
I continue sipping the drink. I only poured half a glass for fear that I wouldn’t be able to finish it. I was right.
This concoction is thicc.
On one hand, I’d rather be able to taste the peppermint in the chocolate than having it be too subtle right?
On the other hand, I also wonder if subtler hints of peppermint would make this drink more enjoyable to sip on.
The peppermint also left a very distinctive cooling aftertaste in my throat which I had no complaints about amidst Singapore’s overbearing heat.
If Christmas was a drink, it would taste like this.
I did enjoy sipping it though, and the entire time jingle bells were ringing in my head. It tastes like something you’d drink on Christmas morning.
Probably because peppermint is a flavour that’s often offered in drinks during Christmas, i.e. Starbucks’ Peppermint Mocha.
I suppose the fact that it isn’t widely available throughout the year makes it more ‘festive’. But don’t quote me on that.
Overall, it’s a great drink to sip on and enjoy in small quantities which isn’t necessarily a good thing. It just means there’ll be more leftover for the fam bam.

The Verdict
Rating: 4/5
Would I repurchase? Yes. Would I drink the entire carton at one go? No.
