To be honest, sometimes, we think Singapore is so safe that we’ll just leave our valuables unattended, because “this is Singapore leh, who will dare to steal?”
Well, here’s one instance that’ll make you change your mind.
A Facebook user, Ameerah Aizat, has posted a few screenshots of a guy who openly took an unattended phone, belonging to her friend Nurul Hafizah Ismail, next to a cash register.
Hi guys! I need a favour from all of you. Anyone knows this guy in the picture? He stole my friend’s phone while she is…

According to the owner of the phone, she merely left the nine-month-old phone unattended for three minutes when it was stolen by the bespectacled man. The images posted were screenshots from the CCTV, and the case is still being investigated.
Ameerah Aizat has urged people who know the guy to private message her.
I guess it’s time that we stop being complacent, because low crime doesn’t mean no crime.
