Maybe we’re just a little bias when we write about this since it’s our favourite restaurant near our old office premises, but hey: it’s really a beautiful restaurant with good and affordable food, and who doesn’t like that?
Located deep in Mandai Estate, which is along Woodlands Road, you can’t really find it unless you know about it. But once you spot the entrance, you’ll be awed. Just take a look.
While it is pretty far from Mandai Zoo, the theme of the restaurant is wild animals. Statues of animals could be found both inside and outside the restaurant, making it a good selfie spot for those missed those shots with the real animals in the zoo.
The restaurant serves local zi char food, and since it’s located in an industrial area catered to workers, you can expect less than five minutes of waiting time (like, seriously).
The menu is pretty extensive—whatever you can find in a zi char stall, they’ll have it, and even more. They used to serve Thai food but that has been discontinued.
The reason why we’ve suggested this, even when we’ve shifted office? Here’s the thing: it’s surprisingly affordable. Despite the interesting theme, the restaurant-style good service and air-conditioning, the price is similar to that of the price in a typical hawker centre zi char stall.
And yes, there’s no GST or service charge. In other words, one could have a full meal with a drink for less than $7.
Now you know why it used to be our favourite!
