Imagine being excited that your new iPhone 12 was finally on the way to you via delivery, but when it arrives, it wouldn’t turn on at all.
Or getting your groceries delivered to your doorstep only to find out that some of the food had been broken to pieces, just like your heart.
You might think it was the seller’s fault for sending you a wrong one, or that you just had horrible luck, but little did you know, it just might have been because of some delivery personnel who treats parcels like how the Goody Feed boss treats his employees.
Manhandling Parcels
If you thought leaving parcels at the lift lobby unattended for people to grab freely was bad, this might just be worse.
One particular video on popular Facebook page SG Road Vigilante has been making its rounds amongst Singaporeans on the platform, gaining 1.1K shares and almost 200 comments within less than a day of its release.
Here’s the video in question:
The video shows two delivery personnel, one man and one woman, unloading heaps of parcels from their van at what appears to be the loading bay of a void deck.
These parcels were in cardboard boxes and poly-mailers, and appeared to be parcels that were to be delivered to residents in the vicinity.
According to the original post, the incident occurred at Block 418 Fernvale Link in Sengkang.
Throughout the video, the man and woman could be seen unloading the parcels from their van, which would be very normal, until you see that they’re actually throwing the parcels onto the ground like they’re rubbish to be discarded.
Is that a bird? Is that a plane? No, it’s a flying parcel.
Loud thudding sounds, enough to make a person cringe thinking about the item inside, can be heard in the video as well.
While unloading some smaller parcels from the back seats of the van, the man even dropped some parcels on the road.
Near the end of the video, the woman was seen sorting out the packages into piles, throwing them from corner to corner and even using her foot to prod some of them. Yikes.
However, it’s unclear as to what delivery company these two are working for, but it’s apparent that these do not seem to be their personal items.
Enraged Netizens
Needless to say, with this realisation that there are indeed delivery personnel who treat parcels poorly, netizens were furious.
Most criticised the actions of the two, saying that if they didn’t want to do their jobs properly, they should just quit.
Others said that parcels are treated even rougher in warehouses, with packages flying everywhere.
Hopefully, they have learnt their lesson after being publicly shamed online, and will treat parcels with respect in future.
