You’ve heard about all about. You’ve seen all of it. And now, you’re going to try it for yourself soon.
Yes, we’re talking about Tiger Sugar.
Now, for all you folks out there who haven’t got a chance to try this yet, now you don’t have to fly to Taiwan to try this for yourself liao.
#ICYMI: A Tiger Sugar Outlet Is Opening Up in S’pore
Okay, the meaty details first:Â Where, when, what and how?
Now, we’re not able to reveal the price at this moment because…well, we promised them we’re not going to spill the beans.
However, we can tell you that for a drink, it’s pretty reasonable.
And it’s conveniently located in the central of Singapore at City Hall so if you happen to be working there, lucky you.
- Where:Â 13 Stamford Road, #B2-32, Capitol Piazza, Singapore 178905
- When: 3 Nov 2018, 11 am
(P.S. Yes, you can walk to Capitol Piazza from City Hall MRT Station)
Okay, Singaporeans are known for their love of queues, but is Tiger Sugar good enough for us to queue up for? I mean, Singaporeans have standards too, right?
After trying it, the answer is…yes.
The Perfect Balance of Brown Sugar, QQ Boba and Fresh Milk
When the cup came out, it was warm at the bottom and cold at the top. Kind of like your coffee shop kopi peng that you know is made fresh by the uncle.
The cup is covered in a layer of brown sugar before brown sugar boba, mini pearls and ice are added into the cup.
Then, they top everything off with milk and cream mousse.
And you get the iconic tiger stripes at the side of the drink.
Fun fact: their stripes are like your fingerprints. No two cups are going to have the same pattern of tiger stripes.
So make sure you take a shot to put on your IG before drinking.
In fact, the Singapore outlet has two IG-worthy walls for you to take your shots against.
This backdrop is the first in the entire history of the chain designed specially for IG-shots. Isn’t it beautiful?
You’re Not Allowed To Choose Your Sugar Level
If you’re a purveyor of bubble tea shops, you’ll notice that they always ask for your sugar level.
Not Tiger Sugar, though. As the experts in the domain, they request that you trust them when it comes to the sweetness of the drink.
Customers are required to shake the drink exactly 15 times before drinking it. And for good reason.
Nobody knows why 15’s the magical number except those who came up with it but here’s how it ends up.
The brown sugar and milk combined beautifully into a concoction that’s not too sweet, but not too bland.
And the brown sugar boba, cooked in brown sugar for two-and-a-half hours in the store, adds to the flavour with every chew.
The fresh cream mousse adds a creamy texture to the entire drink that makes it worth every single cent you’ve spent on it.
And everything’s made fresh in-store.Â
Almost Everything In The Drink is Imported
Remember, we did say that the owner was tackling shipment issues in a past article we’ve written about them.
And there’s a reason why it was so important to state it.
Everything’s imported with the exception of the ice and water from Taiwan and Europe. Even the cup is specially designed for Tiger Sugar so the brown sugar won’t melt the cup.
Even the ice cubes they use are typically used in whiskey, which won’t melt as fast as normal ice cubes.
So you’ll have longer to enjoy the drink and not have it diluted.
Please Try The Signature Drink
Now, here’s one thing the owner emphasised: Tiger Sugar isn’t a bubble tea brand (Oops, we said they were). They’re a brown sugar fresh milk brand.
And that’s what they’re going to remain.
While they do serve black tea and green tea at the outlet, that’s not their main products.
Their main product is the Brown Sugar Boba Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse.
And they urge you to try it out for yourself when you’re there.
After all, the drink’s the reason why they exist in Taiwan and that’s why they want the brand to take flight here as well.
After drinking it for ourselves, we can’t help but agree: you really have to try it for yourself.
Well, I don’t know about you but it feels great to write a rave review after such a long time.
Rating: 4.5/5
0.5 is taken away because of the possibility of 3-hour queues.
