Back when we did a video on Chinatown, one of the hidden gems within this iconic street is the Tintin shop.

It’s the place to be at if you’re an avid Tintin collector or just someone who wants to relive your childhood days.

Unfortunately, this hidden hipster shop within Chinatown will be closing for good soon.

The Tintin Shop Closing in 2-3 Weeks After Failing to Negotiate Manageable Rent with Landlord

On 25 Jul 2020, The Tintin Shop at Chinatown announced that they’ll be closing their physical shop for good in a Facebook post.

They revealed that they have tried to negotiate rental rates with their landlord but were unable to come to an agreement.

For now, they do not know whether they’ll be reopening the shop again in other locations.

However, they will be holding a clearance sale of at least 30% or more for their inventory and will be operating for another 2 to 3 weeks.

Their online shop will also be operating throughout the period, so for those of you who want to relive your childhood days, this could be your chance to do so…cheaper.

A Big Thank You

In the post, they also thanked their supporters, both overseas and local, for coming all the way to visit them throughout the years.

They are very appreciative of the love, concern and warm wishes over the past weeks and urge Singaporeans to continue supporting local businesses.

If you want to, go to their shop before they close for good for one last hurrah or just some photos with your favourite childhood heroes.

What Do They Sell?

As the name suggests, the shop sells everything Tintin:

From posters

to beautifully-designed t-shirts

Watches and, of course, figurines of Tintin characters:

All in all, Tintin fans would probably love spending a day (or more) inside the shop, especially those who had wanted to get some items for themselves but found it a bit too pricey.

You can check out their website here for their items that are currently going on sale.

Don’t say we bojio hor.
