What do you do when you win a TOTO prize?
You probably won’t tell anyone about it, and definitely won’t thank anyone.
Not this winner.
Woman Wins TOTO After Visiting People’s Park Centre Shrine; Engages Thai Dancers to Perform Afterwards
A lucky winner brought Thai dancers to perform at a Four-Faced Buddha shrine in People’s Park Centre after winning over $136,000 in the New Year TOTO draw.
The celebration took place on Thursday, 9 January, at 3 PM, where four Thai dancers performed a traditional dance in front of the shrine.
The winner stood in prayer before the Four-Faced Buddha during the performance, which attracted many onlookers who stopped to watch and take photos with their phones.
The dance lasted about 10 minutes.
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the winner, who wished to remain anonymous, shared that she had been buying TOTO tickets for five years but only played occasionally, particularly during big draws.
She discovered the Four-Faced Buddha shrine on social media about six months ago and decided to visit. “After the results were announced, I had to check multiple times because I couldn’t believe it at first,” she said.
The winner spent $10 on ten Quick Pick tickets at People’s Park Centre’s betting outlet, with randomly generated numbers.
After purchasing the tickets, she went downstairs to pray at the Four-Faced Buddha shrine.
“I had previously prayed to the Four-Faced Buddha during a trip to Thailand. After this win, I felt incredibly lucky. I had seen others arrange dance performances after their wins, so I decided to do the same,” she explained.
The shrine manager, revealed that their Four-Faced Buddha statue was made in the same batch as the one at Bangkok’s famous Erawan Shrine. The Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, Thailand, is a shrine dedicated to Phra Phrom. Known for its intricate statue and vibrant daily rituals, it attracts both locals and tourists seeking blessings and good fortune.
A Thai monk blessed the shop when it opened.
Beyond financial matters, many visitors also pray at the shrine for help with career and personal issues.
According to Singapore Pools, the New Year TOTO draw on 3 January saw 13 second-prize winners, each receiving $136,132.
