Lest you’re unaware, your TraceTogether status is very important.
It is, after all, the determining factor in whether you’re able to enter specific buildings…
Or not.
TraceTogether’s ‘Not Cleared’ Issue for COVID-19 Home Recovery Patients to be Resolved Soon
And that’s why TraceTogether’s latest “bug” is a worrying one.
Apparently, COVID-19 home recovery patients are still displayed as “not cleared” on their TraceTogether apps.
This is due to a slight flaw in the system, which requires a negative result on a second PCR test to clear the test status.
Those on home recovery, however, are not entitled to such a test.
As a result (ironically so), they are stuck with the “not cleared” status even though reality differs.
For the record, the “not cleared” status bars a person from entering most buildings.
He or she is also disallowed from dining in or even grocery shopping.
As such, such a flaw could indeed prove troublesome in the long run.
But it seems that the issue will be fixed in due time.
On 4 October 2021, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung revealed that it will be resolved within the next few days.
Indeed, the alert will be timed with their discharge dates, such that it will be automatically removed upon the completion of their home recovery.
This way, vaccinated people can resume normal life after 10 days, and unvaccinated people after 14 days.
“The IT system needs to keep up with that policy,” Mr Ong said.
“I expect this problem to be resolved sometime this week.”
3 Oct COVID-19 Report
Meanwhile, the number of cases fell for the second consecutive day yesterday (3 October 2021).
While we’ve had over 2,000 new COVID-19 infections daily for several days, the last two days have been slightly more forgiving.
More seniors, however, have succumbed to the disease.
Six more seniors passed away due to COVID-19 complications.
Aged between 68 and 91, five of the cases were male Singaporeans and the other, a female Singaporean.
Two had been unvaccinated, while four had been fully vaccinated. Five of them had underlying medical conditions, while one unvaccinated case had no known medical conditions.
These six fatalities have brought Singapore’s COVID-19 death toll to 113.
In total, 2,057 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday, comprising 1,676 community cases and 373 dormitory residents.
Among the local cases were 430 seniors above the age of 60.
In addition, eight imported cases were detected; all tested positive on their arrival here.
At the moment, there are 1,337 COVID-19 cases warded in hospitals, most of whom are well and under observation.
250 severe cases require oxygen supplementation and 35 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Of these serious cases, 242 are seniors above the age of 60.
Over the last four weeks, 98.1% of the local cases were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms.
As of Monday, 82% of our population has been fully vaccinated. 85% have received at least one dose.
