FOMO is definitely real for those of us who couldn’t get tickets for the Taylor Swift shows in Singapore. It’s been five days since she left our sunny island, and the post-concert depression is washing over us.
Of course, her new boyfriend and a National American football player for the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as a host for the New Heights Podcast, Travis Kelce, was also here to support two (out of six) of her shows.
In a recent podcast episode released yesterday (14 Mar), he spent about six minutes saying some nice things about our island.
Cruel Summer
Amidst the sparkling lights and awesome crowds, Taylor Swift spent some downtime with Travis Kelce where they explored some parts of Singapore.
He shared with his brother that he “got to get some lovely Singapore food and just catch the views”. Previously, on night four of the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had been spotted by fans dining in Koma, a modern Japanese restaurant that specializes in Omakase dining.
And like the rest of us, he couldn’t ignore the heat.
“It was hot in Singapore. ‘Cause it was the slap dab middle of summer over there, so it’s 100 degrees outside.” Sorry Travis, it’s always summer over here – perfect for a sweltering man like you!
Cool Greenery
Did you know he’s a guy who loves plants and greenery?
Travis gushed about the lush greenery we have here, especially the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay.
Though he didn’t explicitly name-drop the spot, it seems like he was describing the Cloud Forest as he was particularly impressed that we have the “world’s largest greenhouse”.
“It was [really] cool. They had the world’s, like, biggest waterfall in a greenhouse too. It was awesome, man. The way the whole thing was laid out.” Me too, Travis, me too.
Like he said, Singapore’s heat is no joke. He and Taylor Swift took refuge in the cool space.
“It was so lovely to go in there just hang on that thing and see all the amazing plants.”
Exceeding Expectations
He had more to say about Singapore. His brother, former American football player for the Philadelphia Eagles, and podcast co-host, Jason Kelce, was curious about what it’s like here compared to the futuristic pictures he’s seen of Singapore.
“I’ve only seen pictures of Singapore but in pictures, it looks like it’s from the future. It looks like it’s just pristine – the buildings, the architecture, like there’s a lot of glass…”
Travis Kelce couldn’t refute it, saying that Singapore’s architecture is “crazy” (in the best way), and it was “1,000 (per cent)” accurate to the pictures.
He also gave a shout-out to Marina Bay Sands (MBS), stating that it looks just “as advertised” as the rest of our beautiful island. He added that it was “absolutely the coolest s**t to look at”.
However, the couple didn’t stay at MBS, contrary to popular belief. According to The Daily Mail and other news outlets, they stayed at one of the villas at Capella Resort in Sentosa.
As endearing as ever, Travis Kelce geeked out about the lighting in Singapore.
“I was amazed by the lighting on the street, (chuckles), like it’s just so thought out… the building lights, the bus stops, like the lighting they have on there is just very nice… like we don’t have that in America.”
Cheers to our gahmen – Travis Kelce approves!
