Life since the Coronavirus pandemic has not been the same and you and I ought to know that.

You might be thinking, “Not another story on the pandemic!”

Well, for one, many things have changed over the course of just a few months. While some are rather predictable, some fall more towards…erm, should I say, cutting a few so-called toxic ties with people we’d rather not be associated with.

Which comes to show that the pandemic might have just been the catalyst to a few interesting outputs from our ever so outspoken Mr POTUS from the other side of the world.

Folks, it’s a time to be alive, though if possible, please wake me up when 2021 arrives.

China’s Virus Containment Effort Disappoints President Trump

Disgruntled over China’s failure to contain the virus, President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network that he currently did not want to speak to China’s President Xi Jinping.

Lest you didn’t know, Fox News is Trump’s BFF – the only media that he’s not referred to as “fake news”.

Just in January, the two countries shook hands after the first phase of the US-China trade agreement. According to the POTUS himself, the milestones and the relationship that he had once shared with China no longer felt the same.

Oh well. That was when COVID-19 didn’t even have a name.

“They should have never let this happen,” Trump said about his unfriending of China. “So I make a great trade deal and now I say this doesn’t feel the same to me. The ink was barely dry and the plague came over. And it doesn’t feel the same to me.”

Donald Trump Suggested Cutting Ties With China

When asked about the measures he would take against China, he said: “There are many things we could do… We could cut off the whole relationship.

“Now, if you did, what would happen? You’d save $500 billion,” said President Trump with reference to the estimated US annual imports from China.

Of course he didn’t mention how much they’d lose lah since they’re also exporting to China, but you don’t say that during an argument, do you?

President’s Remarks Draw Ridicule

What is President Trump without his haters? Exactly.

The President’s comments, as with his other comments, sparked ridicule. Particularly from the editor in chief of China’s Influential Global Times tabloid, Hu Xijin.

According to official data, the United States is the hardest hit by the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite China’s claim for the transparency, anti-china sentiments have been on a hike since the peak of the pandemic.

That was harsh. But I guess it’s a very Donald Trump way to put things.
