Young teens and children aren’t just at risk of being taken advantage of when they’re alone at home with a relative or a stranger.
Unfortunately, creeps are everywhere and will take advantage of any opportunity to indulge in their perverted desires.
Even when they just want to buy some hamsters.

Underage Girl Who Wanted to Buy More Hamsters from 21YO Man Got Sexually Violated Instead
It all started in 2019 when a 14-year-old girl responded to an online advertisement posted by Lim Wei Yi, a man who was selling pet hamsters.
Nothing weird happened in their first encounter, as she met the man at the lift lobby of her flat and paid S$10 for her hamsters.
However, when she contacted him to purchase more hamsters, he made the odd request of asking her to come into his house and bedroom to complete the transaction.
This occurred on 26 July that year.
After closing the door, he passed her four hamsters and she paid him S$8, as previously agreed.
The deal should have ended here, but Lim then asked the girl if she wanted to talk, which she only agreed to because she didn’t want to seem rude.
But he then asked the girl if she liked hugs.
Alarm bells must have gone off in the girl’s head, but she couldn’t give a reply, as the situation was understandably uncomfortable.

Without an answer, the man hugged her from behind while they were seated on the floor, and started touching her breasts and rubbing his groin against her.
Worried that he would lock her in the room and harm her if she tried to contact her friends, she acted as if nothing happened and said she’d be leaving soon.
This is when Lim took things further.
Instead of realising that he had violated the girl and letting her leave, he moved to the bed and asked her to sit with him.
The poor girl felt compelled to comply, and sat on the bed.

This is when Lim hugged her from behind again, before pushing her down and getting on top of her.
He then sat up and asked if she liked sex and wanted to have sex, before saying he was kidding.
The young teen finally said she had to leave and Lim let her go, but first told her not to tell anyone about what had happened.
Fortunately, the girl immediately went to a friend’s house and told her everything. The friend urged her to call the police, but she didn’t do so nor told her parents because she was afraid that Lim would come after her.
She eventually told her parents, and they lodged a police report.

Accused: We Fell On the Bed After Losing Our Balance While Hugging
When arrested, Lim could have owned up to his crimes, but he claimed he had just hugged the victim because he was depressed about serving national service.
He added that he had to go close to the victim to check the gender of a hamster she was holding, but told police something completely different: that she was attractive and that he was acting on impulse.
He even claimed, believe it or not, that they had ended up on the bed because they had lost their balance during the second hug.
Is this guy for real?
He added that after they fell on the bed he had immediately moved away.
Unsurprisingly, the judge found Lim’s defence “far-fetched and unbelievable”.

The now 23-year-old was found guilty yesterday (30 July) of committing an indecent act with a young person. He will return to court on 17 Sept for mitigation and sentencing.
The penalty for his offence is up to five years in jail, a fine of up to S$10,000, or both.
