Everything About the Man that Stole 60 Pieces of Underwear at Mountbatten

Now, for whatever reason, if a man wants to wear a bra here, he is free to do so.

Last I checked, there are no laws against men wearing bras in Singapore. So, if a man wants to put on a bra, whether for actual support or because he enjoys it, that’s fine with me.

All he has to do is head to a store, purchase a bra of his liking, and put it on. The same goes for women’s underwear.

And that’s exactly what one man in Mountbatten did. Except instead of buying it he stole it. And instead of stealing one, he stole 60 pieces of undergarments.

Everything About the Man that Stole 60 Pieces of Underwear at Mountbatten

At around 6.20am on 20 Feb, a female resident who lives in Jalan Batu informed the police that her underwear outside her unit had been stolen.

Officers from the Bedok Police Division eventually managed to identify the perpetrator through ground enquiries and images from police cameras.

On Wednesday (31 March), they arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a string of undergarment theft cases.

Officers found more than 60 undergarments in his possession and seized the items. He is believed to be involved in similar cases in the area.

Police investigations are ongoing. If convicted of theft, the man can be imprisoned for up to three years and fined.

Serial Undergarment Thief Found to Have Over 140 Undergarments In His Possession

It appears that this 47-year-old isn’t the only serial undergarment thief in town.

Between April 2018 and April 2020, 39-year-old Lee Chee Kin had gone around stealing bras and underwear after entering victims’ homes.

In May last year, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges after more than 100 bras and 41 pairs of panties were found in his house. He even went out during the circuit breaker without a mask to indulge his fetish.

Lee reportedly selected the underwear “based on their appearance”, a detail I’m sure the court did not want to hear.

Judges can’t say TMI, can they?

The underwear thief would climb over back gates and enter laundry areas to take them before climbing back out.

Even after getting arrested once, Lee continued to steal, entering victims’ homes on at least 30 occasions to do so.

Some of the stolen items were not recovered, but none of the victims wanted them back anyway.

One victim, in particular, had many pairs of underwear stolen, as Lee entered her home on four occasions between February and March 2019, and took 12 bras and 12 pairs of panties worth S$1,000 from the back yard.

Sometimes I forget how expensive women’s underwear is.
