When you’re caught for doing something immoral or illegal, there are two ways in which you can respond:
- Own up to your mistake and accept the consequences
- Own up to your mistake and accept the consequences
Yes, there’s really only one way to respond to such a situation, if you’re a rational human being, that is.
But this man, a seeming bohemian, chose a slightly more unorthodox approach and decided to punch his victim in the face after she caught him red-handed.
Man Allegedly Punched Woman Twice After She Caught Him Taking Upskirt Photo Of Her
On 23 Sep at about 10pm, the police received a report of a case of voyeurism inside a lift of a block along Hougang Avenue 5.
A 30-year-old man had allegedly taken an upskirt photo of a woman who was inside the lift with him.
When the woman confronted him over this, the man allegedly punched the victim twice on her cheek and fled the scene.
So not only is he a sexual deviant, he’s a violent dolt as well.
Through investigations and with the aid of police camera footage, officers from the Ang Mo Kio police division managed to establish the identity of the suspect, reported CNA.
The 30-year-old man was arrested a day after the incident on Thursday (24 Sep).
Police investigations are ongoing.
For the offence of voyeurism, the man could face up to two years’ jail, a fine, caning, or any combination of the three.
And because he also punched the poor victim in the face, the man is also being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt, which could lead to a prison sentence of up to three years, a fine of $5,000, or both.
Man Sent Upskirt Photos to Female Traffic Police Officer
If you scroll through the Goody Feed app every day, you’d know that, sadly, cases of voyeurism are becoming prevalent.
The man above was pretty foolish with his actions, but not as foolish as this 34-year-old man.
Earlier this month, a 34-year-old man was arrested for insulting a traffic police officer after she reminded him to pay his traffic fines.
Now, the word “insulted” makes it seem like he just hurled a couple of expletives at her, but no.
While he did make insulting comments, the man also sent the woman upskirt images of an unknown person.
The man was reported and the police arrested him on 3 June.
Precautions You Can Take
It’s hard to know if a pervert is attempting to take upskirt photos of you because some of them have cameras discreetly installed in their shoes or even in shopping bags, but there are some precautions you can take.
For one, as this image demonstrates, you could place your hands on the back of your skirt, especially while on an escalator or climbing stairs.
You should also be conscious of those behind you, whether you’re on an escalator or standing on a bus or MRT.
Pay close attention to anyone standing too close to you, and move away if you sense something suspicious.
Make it a point to check under your desks at work regularly as well, as some workers have been known to install cameras to take illicit photos of their colleagues.
These perverts, unfortunately, are everywhere. So, please remain vigilant.
