I grew up watching Home Alone 1 and Home Alone 2 over and over again all year round. I was obsessed with it and I’m sure that I’m not the only one.

I mean just look at this cute kid.

And yeah, the idea of spending Christmas alone in a big city with someone else’s credit card is too good to be true.

But how many of us are aware that US President Donald Trump actually did a cameo in the movie Home Alone 2?

Say what.

It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s US President Donald Trump in one of our favourite childhood movies.

Wait, so why drag it up again after so many years?

Well, the topic recently came to light after CBC aired the 1992 Christmas film and some viewers noticed that Trump’s scene had been cut out of the movie.

Trump had previously stated that it was an “honour” to be in the movie since it was such a big hit, hence viewers demanded to know the reason why.

Pretty understandable if you ask me.

CBC Spokesman Responded

Ask and you shall be answered, said CBC.

A CBC spokesman Chuck Thompson said, “As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time.”

“The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014, when we first acquired the film and before Mr Trump was elected president” in 2016, Thompson said.

However, people like to find a problem where there may be none?

Angry social media users accused the CBC of making a politically motivated decision. Heck, even Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr had a thing or two to say.

Actually, he only said one word: “Pathetic”.

US President Donald Trump, however, seemed to find the whole situation amusing.

Donald Trump On His Scene In Home Alone

When asked about his scene on Home Alone 2, he said:

“I was a little bit younger, to put it mildly … It turned out to be a very big hit, obviously. It’s a big Christmas hit, one of the biggest,” said Trump.

If you are unaware, he had just acquired the Plaza Hotel in New York, where a couple of the scenes for Home Alone 2 were filmed.

He also said, “It’s an honour to be involved in something like that.”

Yes Mr Trump, it is also an honour to be the US President.

His cameo is very brief and it involves yung boi Kevin McCallister trying to ask Donald Trump for directions on how to get to the lobby.

He says with precision, “Down the hall and to the left.”

Well thanks for that, mate.
