Taiwanese singer Vanness Wu is many things; charismatic, good-looking and ridiculously fit are just some of the ‘F4‘ member’s more noticeable traits.
And yet, as perfect as the Taiwanese singer seems to be, one thing always seems to fall short of said perfection:
His marriage.
Having married Singaporean socialite Arissa Cheo in 2013, their marriage started encountering problems as soon as 2014.
In 2015, a notoriously public spat on Instagram, in which the pair unfollowed each other on the social media platform, cast the spotlight on their rocky marriage. Rumours, however, were then dismissed by the 39-year-old singer and his manager.
And now, in 2018, yet another sign of their failing marriage has popped up:
The pair, according to reports, allegedly spent Chinese New Year apart.
Separated
According to Toggle, Vanness returned to America over the festive break to spend the occasion with his mother and sister, and will be staying there till mid-March in preparations for an upcoming music festival.
Arissa, on the other hand, stayed in Taiwan, and was seen fetching their family pet dog Hercules to the vet for a follow-up consultation.
Thereafter, she was snapped heading to Xinyi District, where she met a male friend for steamboat.
Incidentally, Chinese New Year is a festive occasion wherein families gather for an annual reunion dinner and other customary traditions.
So well, this doesn’t bode well for the couple, does it?
It doesn’t help that a friend of Vanness reportedly agreed with the claims either. In an exclusive interview with Taiwan media, it was revealed that Vanness once suggested a divorce, but was subsequently turned down by Arissa.
Which effectively means that while the two are still legally married, they have more or less gone their separate ways.
But wait, not all hope’s lost
Another friend of the couple has spoken up and shared that their relationship’s actually “not as bad as the public perceived it to be”.
The friend reportedly told media that the couple still live together, and even spend time together walking their two dogs.
Which leads to the all-important question:
Who the *** do we trust?
As a final resort, Vanness’ manager was approached to comment on the validity of the statements, and as expected…
He declined, saying they are private matters.
Yeah, because public image. Totally get it. Not.
Nevertheless…
Ladies, hold up before you get some air tickets to America, because the man’s definitely not confirmed to be a vacant goalpost. And for guys, no steamboats. Yet.
Until further reports emerge, I guess we can only wait.
Although of course, I hope that the rumours aren’t true. After all…
There are way too many failed marriages in this world.
Let’s not wish for one more, huh.
