Parents should set a good role model for their kids. This is a common saying, but is it really important?
Well, a video of a toddler vaping that went viral proves that it is.
Children usually emulate whatever behaviour they see around them and since their parents are usually the people they spend the most time with, there is a high chance that they will follow in the footsteps of their mom and dad.
This means if a toddler’s parents are often vaping in front of their kid, their child might think it is fine to do so too.
World of Buzz reported that on twitter, the user @khairul_hafidz shared a video of a toddler who looks less than 3 years old vaping.
While it is impossible to tell where the child is from, the toddler is definitely Asian.
The twitter user tweeted the video with the caption, “This is sad, we shouldn’t allow this to be seen as normal in our society. We can’t let this hurt the future of the children”.
Ini merupakan satu kejadian yang menyedihkan.
Adakah kita mahu perkara seperti ini dianggap perkara yang biasa? Adakah kita mahu mempertaruhkan masa depan mereka?

Some of the many side effects that vaping might cause includes coughing, dry skin and eyes, insomnia, dizziness and nosebleeds.
It is commonly known that vaping has very negative effects on one’s health so for a parent to actually let their young child vape is simply irresponsible.
As the tweet blew up and garnered thousands of retweets, many commented on how there should be a ban placed on vape so that this will not happen again.
This is timely as it was recently reported by Free Malaysia Today that there was consideration by the Malaysian Government to put a total ban on vape.
Part of the reason is because of a study conducted on Malaysian adolescents that showed there were over 300,000 students that used vape. And of the large number, 250,000 were male students.
As the number of students vaping is extremely large, Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad decided to weigh the pros and cons of allowing vape in the country.
He stated that while there were many benefits brought to the Malaysia economy by vape, the nicotine related burdens were even greater.
This case is currently being presented to the government in hopes something will be done to stop the widespread use of vape.
It is worrying that kids are getting their hands on vape so easily and more definitely has to be done to ensure that this case does not repeat itself again.
As for the parents of the toddler in the video, hopefully they will treat this as a wake-up call to be more responsible and learn not to leave their e-cigarette near their child ever again.
