Video of the Day: Fight in TP & a Case of an Ongoing Social Issue

Anyone who has been in polytechnic would know this: lectures are boring AF. If you kena a monotonous lecturer whose lifelong mission is to put every living organism in earth to sleep, going to lectures is almost as hard as waking up at 4:00 a.m.

So you can understand why in this viral video, no one in the lecture hall is complaining (except maybe for the select few teacher’s pets).

The video shows a student, dressed in yellow and black, and therefore has been nicknamed Bumblebee (his yellow hair helps, too), taunting the class, and getting into an argument and fight. Eventually, he addressed the lecture with an inspirational speech and took off his shirt (???).

It’s an 18-minute video which is complied from smaller clips.

If you do not have 18 minutes to spare but still want to be in the loop, here’s a summary:

  • Someone attacked Bumblebee when he came to the hall, and Bumblebee fought back
  • Quarrel, quarrel and quarrel (some quite personal) as students all prepared popcorn
  • Another guy quarreled with Bumblebee, and when Bumblebee said that he’s “gangster”, the guy replied angrily, “You ITE, you talk what?!”
  • Bumblebee lost it (or…win it?) and more words exchange, but it gets a tad boring as security and more adults came in until…
  • …Bumblebee  did an inspirational speech about how hard he worked to enter poly
  • …and then took off his shirt, claiming that he’s a victim.
  • He ended off with the best-est sentence ever: “I don’t need a degree, you know why? Because I can earn more than you!”

How come polytechnic nowadays is so happening arh?

Anyways, TP is now conducting investigations, and Bumblebee is now on a journey to stand up for ITE students (yeah, yeah).

If you want to know how popular this is, read this: it’s the #1 trending video in YouTube, and according to the YouTube description, Bumblebee is now “suspended from class for the time being.”

Now, here’s the question: is the social issue about looking down at ITE students, or is it about how students have leveraged on that issue as a way to draw attention?

Remember to check back tomorrow on the next video of the day!
