Okay, when it comes to Durian, there’s honestly nothing Singaporeans have not tried before. From Durian Kit Kat, Durian Sweets to even a Durian drink, we have conquered it all and most of the time, we’ll still like to stick to the original favouite – eating it from a fruit.
However, just recently, a video went viral of a man ‘grilling’ or ‘BBQ-ing’ his durian, and that has clocked over 9 million views. This, well, drove everyone to a frenzy because no one has ever seen something this appalling before.
Here, have a look.
Yup, just 3 good old durians being roasted on a BBQ pit as though they are meat. Doesn’t get any better than this. Plus, this method of grilling the durian is meant to make it sweeter and more fragrant!
Imagine eating the flesh of a durian with a crisp exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth textures. Yup, that’s even better than making the durian into a drink or a dessert because you get the real deal – just with variations in its textures.
HOW TO NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH IT?!
This looks exactly like grilled mochi, just that it is in the form of a durian. I wonder if it’ll have the cheese-like texture when you pull the flesh from the seed!
However, this video has also sparked off some negative comments from netizens – many who said that they should never do that to a durian as it might destroy its original flavour and taste.
Still, there were some other who were fully supportive, and couldn’t wait to try how it tastes.
So, what say you? Will you be pro or against this?
