A female passenger was removed from a Virgin Australia flight scheduled to depart from Perth to Melbourne on 21 June 2025, after a heated dispute with a flight attendant over a bum bag.
Exchange Between Passenger and Crew
The incident unfolded while the aircraft was still on the runway at Perth Airport, reported 7News.
Video footage captured the woman arguing with a flight attendant, who had requested that she remove her bum bag for safety reasons.

The flight attendant explained, “You had a bum bag on, in the event of an evacuation, we need to make sure you’re safe and everyone else is safe.”
Escalation and Removal from Aircraft
The disagreement escalated quickly. The woman pointed and raised her voice, exclaiming, “You’re telling me to take my clothes off on a plane? F*** off.”
The flight attendant responded that she did not say that, despite the passenger claiming otherwise.
Despite attempts by the crew to calm the situation, the passenger continued to refuse the request. Another member of the flight crew joined to assist.
Police Intervention and Aftermath
Australian Federal Police officers boarded the aircraft soon after and removed the woman from the flight.
The 28-year-old was charged over the incident and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
No injuries were reported. The flight continued after the passenger was escorted off.
Virgin Australia has not released further details about the incident or the specific charges.
