This upcoming local film is reminiscent of those Taiwanese rom-coms like You Are The Apple of My Eye or Our Times, built upon a solid core of our own local brand of humour.
And it stars local YouTube star Terence Then! *cue fangirling*
Anyway, the film tells the story of the life of Lin Yu, who lived his whole life one step behind others. Like he says in the trailer, “Be it studies, examinations, football, or wooing girls, at the end of the day, no matter how hard I worked, I’ll still be lacking”.
Being a rom-com, you know he’s going to get the girl in the end, but the journey there (decades, as mentioned by the plot summary) promises to be an interesting and fun-filled joyride.
The perfect combination of a gripping love story and the Singaporean humour we know and love from the original Money No Enough, makes this film a compelling contender for the legendary status of Jack Neo’s films. In fact, Jack Neo is involved in the production as well, so you know you’re in for some quality work.
Mark down the release date, 25 May 2017, in your calendar, and don’t miss this!
