According to Shanghaiist, a hotpot restaurant owner in Beijing decide to come up with this clever gimmick in order to promote his shop but it backfired spectacularly when, instead of praising his creativity, netizens were disgusted with this shameful display.
Some wondered if the doll is cleaned properly before reuse, while another just jokingly commented that it was too troublesome to unwrap the meat, and asked if it’s possible to just throw the entire doll into the soup and be done with it.
Well, whatever it is, I must say that if the Beijing hotpot restaurant owner had wanted publicity, he got it. Just not the way he envisioned it to be.
