Singapore will experience continued wet weather for the remainder of September 2025, with thundery showers expected on most days through the month’s end.

The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) forecasts that Southwest Monsoon conditions will persist over Singapore and the surrounding region until 30 September 2025. Winds will blow mainly from the southeast or southwest during this period.

Morning Squalls Expected

Sumatra squalls may bring widespread thundery showers and gusty winds during pre-dawn and morning hours on several days in the second half of September. These weather systems typically develop over Sumatra before moving eastward across the region.

Localised short-duration thundery showers can be expected over parts of the island during some afternoons. The weather service indicates there may be few completely dry days during this period.

Daily temperatures are likely to range between 24 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius on most days. Despite the frequent showers, the daily maximum temperature may reach slightly above 34 degrees Celsius on a few days.

The National Environment Agency published an advisory on 16 September 2025 confirming that thundery showers are expected on most days for the rest of the month.
