Love oh love. Be it fresh new relationships or decade old ones, some things stay the same but some change. For new couples, meeting each other is always exciting – your heart skips many beats and butterflies just keep coming. For old timers, meeting each other is exciting too, in different ways. What you say to each other when you meet really does reveal your love for him/her.
Hello
This one applies to new relationships. Still pretty formal with each other, so chances are, you’re probably still deciding whether you like him or not. Also, it’s still probation period so meeting each other is make it or break it.
Hey baby
Probably a few months into the relationship. You are starting to feel something more for your partner, and hope to carry it on further. You are still in the stage of calling each other “babe” or “baby” or “darling” so it’s more than puppy love but you’re still having doubts about whether you truly love your guy/girl.
I’ve missed you
Past the honeymoon period by a month or two, and you are starting to feel like you can’t get enough of your partner. It’s when you realise that you do love your S.O and can’t bear to be apart for so long. (Overly-attached partner in the making?)
Eat where ah
Way past the honeymoon period and you guys aren’t really being lovey dovey with each other because it’s kind of childish after a while. You are at that comfort level where you know you love the person enough for you to be casual and less polite.
Eh walao why you so late
Rude, but direct. Definitely above comfort level. Love? A lot, but just hidden and doesn’t need to be shown. Your love for your partner is at that level where you don’t have to say; you just show it. But seriously, if you ask a girl out but didn’t decide on where to eat, it’s plain annoying.
CB no need go out anymore lah
Comfort level? Simi sai? Why need to go out? I love you enough for us to just stay home and eat maggie and still be happy. Otherwise, I’ll just tell my ma to cook something nice lah. BTO plans soon maybe?
