Android users who have always wanted to video-call your loved ones, you’re going to love this news!
A couple of months back, WhatsApp actually added a video-call function to the beta build of their app. Users who were on the correct build were able to perform video calls but it pulled it out after a while.
Apparently, WhatAapp wasn’t ready for video call then.
Video Call function back again
But guess what? The video call function was spotted again, and the first to discover this is Android Police.
Users who have updated to the latest version of the beta build, 2.16.318 (451462), will be able to use this awesome function.
In order to video call another phone, both phones have to be equipped with this version of the app.
Quality of video call
It was reported online that the function isn’t perfect yet, with quality being fine but a lag time experienced even on a 50Mbps Wifi connection.
Don’t worry because it’s still in its beta phase and WhatsApp is calling for feedback on the quality of its video call function.
It’s likely that they will work on perfecting video calls on WhatsApp before releasing it for real on the app.
Want to try the function for yourself? Sign yourself up for the beta and get started!
At the moment, this function is only available for Android.
