The internet: giving weirdos a chance to be famous since 1990.
We’ve seen people who would do literally anything for their 15 minutes of fame, even if it could kill them.
Remember the Cinnamon Challenge? That’s the one where you have to eat a spoonful of ground cinnamon in under 60 seconds without drinking anything.
The problem with this challenge is that it carried many health risks, and one boy even died from cinnamon-related asphyxia when he attempted the challenge.
Not all internet trends are bad though.
Magic Hands Trick
Take this magic hands trick that went viral on TikTok, for instance.
In case you don’t know, TikTok is an app that allows users to share short video clips. As The Mirror reports, this has led to a number of bizarre trends, including the purple shampoo challenge and the terrifying bright eye challenge.
And by the way, we’ve a TikTok account, too. If you’re looking to lose some brain cells, here’s our account.
But anyways.
The latest TikTok trend has everyone scratching their heads, however.
Called the ‘Magic Hands Trick’, it’s an optical illusion where performers bend and straighten their hands close together quickly to create the impression that one hand is disappearing into the other and coming out the other side.
If you still don’t understand, have a look at Tori Pareno’s attempt at the trick.
here’s something trippy for your night lol pic.twitter.com/lkcX25mgri
— LG Tori Pareno (@ToriPareno) November 21, 2019
As you can see, the girl in the video makes it look as if her hands are passing through each other.
You must be questioning your existence at this point. Fret not, you’re not alone.
Tori’s video was viewed more than nine million times after she posted it on Twitter with the caption “Here’s something trippy for your night lol.”
It was trippy indeed, maybe too trippy for the internet.
Puzzled Netizens
Just like you and I, everyone who viewed the video was both impressed and bemused.
(P.S. When you see Sonic and Pikachu together, you know it’s some serious shit)
Yes, our eyes simply tricked us. There was no voodoo magic or witchcraft. The world makes sense again.
You’re welcome.
