For reasons we’ll probably never know, some people here cannot stand safe distancing ambassadors (SDA).
There was the famous MBS Lady, who very publicly refused to listen to an SDA just because she didn’t have a badge.
And we’ve had numerous other reports of residents verbally abusing or even physically fighting with SDAs.

The antagonist in this story, however, did something a little different to vent her frustrations.
Woman Pulls Off SDA’s Mask During Confrontation
A video of a woman pulling down an SDA’s mask during a heated confrontation at Marina Bay Sands is making the rounds on social media.
The video starts with three SDAs – two women and a man – approaching a man and woman dressed in white because they were allegedly consuming alcohol after 10:30pm.
When that happens, you can either:
- Stop drinking; or
- Stop drinking
But instead of this, the pair in white argue with the SDAs, which likely prompted one of the female SDAs to record the incident on her phone.
Presumably angered by this or something that the SDA said, the woman in white suddenly extends her hand and pulls down the female SDA’s mask.
In other recordings of the argument, the man in white could be seen speaking and gesticulating aggressively at the female SDA, while the woman in white tries to pull him back.
In two other clips, the woman in white could be seen walking aggressively towards a male and female SDA, forcing them to move backwards.

It looked a little like a synchronised dance routine at times.
Police Report Filed, Investigations Ongoing
According to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), a police report has since been filed over the incident.
It was revealed that the man and woman in white had allegedly refused to stop consuming alcohol after 10:30pm at an unnamed food and beverage establishment.
The outlet then requested the help of STB’s SDAs.
Despite the F&B establishment’s staff and SDAs repeatedly telling them to stop, the pair refused to comply with their orders.

But that wasn’t all.
The man and woman in white then allegedly followed the SDAs out of the establishment and that’s where the confrontation took place.
STB said it will not hesitate to take action against anyone who abuses SDAs, and urged residents to cooperate with them and comply with their instructions.
After all, just like every one of us, they’re simply doing their job.
Investigations are ongoing.
