With millions of us relying on our delivery heroes to send us the goods or food we’ve ordered, there’s bound to be some mistakes.
In this case, a mistake done by the delivery personnel turned an innocent person who is actually retrieving her own package into a “package thief”.
Luckily the police weren’t involved (yet) and that the misunderstanding was cleared up relatively quickly.
“Someone stole my delivered items!!”
This was the caption written by a Facebook user, David Loh.
In the same post, he included a one-minute CCTV footage showing what seemed to be a lady in a green shirt casually strolling past his house while eyeing a paper bag that was hung on his metal gate, turned back, and then taking the bag before leaving the scene.
She doesn’t seem to be particularly sneaky about it though – she didn’t even look furtively around to see if anyone saw her stealing something… like a thief would.
Plus, it was broad daylight at that time so anyone could have seen her and reported her to the police.
So, it’s obvious that things aren’t what they seem.
Woman Mistaken for Stealing Neighbour’s Package Was Actually Retrieving Her Own Package from a Neighbour’s House
After posting about the stolen package, David’s neighbour reached out to him to explain the issue.
Apparently, the delivery person did an “oopsie” and delivered the paper bag containing three scented candles – a gift from a friend – to the wrong address.
Their house number is merely one number apart.
Instead of helping her to rectify the issue, the delivery person told her to just retrieve the package from her neighbour.
So, she did exactly that… with the help of her maid of course.
At that time, David wasn’t home and the paper bag was just hanging on his gate, so she simply grabbed the bag, checked the note on the said bag, and then returned it to her employer.
As told to reporters from 8world, David said that the neighbour told him she originally wanted to apologize in person but he wasn’t at home at that time.
She ended up leaving a note in his postbox.
That being said, it seems like David has taken down the Facebook post in light of the truth so if you’re looking for the viral video, you won’t find it.
