Woman Caught Urinating Behind a Closed Counter at Johor Immigration

Remember in primary school when you had to ask for permission and get a toilet pass to go to the toilet?

Perhaps they should start implementing that at Johor Immigration.

Last week, a woman was caught relieving herself not so discretely at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI).

Footage Shows Woman Urinating at CIQ Complex in BSI

On Friday (5 May), footage of a woman caught urinating behind a closed immigration counter at the CIQ complex in BSI made its rounds on social media. The woman was wearing a blue face mask.

Scared of COVID-19 but not scared of getting caught relieving herself in public.

The person who filmed the 23-second video is presumably a staff at Johor Immigration.

In the footage, the woman had just finished relieving herself behind an immigration counter closed for upgrading works when the staff approached her. She was caught off guard and looked blankly at the staff.

All we can say is: she’s a brave one. Urinating in public at a government building? Now, that’s new.

When the staff shouted at her to clean up after herself, she merely apologised and walked off.

Listening to nature’s call, but not to an immigration personnel’s call.

Regardless, she got overnight fame, but at what cost?

Johor’s Immigration Department Amid Investigations

According to The Star, Johor’s Immigration Department is investigating the incident.

Thus far, the department has received no reports of this incident.

“If the person could no longer hold her bladder, then she should have asked for assistance from authorised personnel at BSI to go to the public toilet,” the director of Johor’s Immigration Department, Baharuddin Tahir, said.

Hopefully, you don’t need to slip them an extra 20 ringgit to use the public toilet.

Man Also Spotted Urinating at Wall in CIQ Complex

The woman wasn’t the only one caught in the act.

According to China Press Johor, another man was also spotted publicly relieving himself at the CIQ complex in BSI.

However, it is unclear whether this man is related to the woman.

President of Malaysia Tour Guides Association: Clear Directions to Public Toilets Should Be Put Up at Johor Immigration

While most netizens have condemned the woman for relieving herself in public, at least one person has stood up for her—the Malaysia Tour Guides Association President, Jimmy Leong.

According to The Star, Leong shared that the incident was a human issue and that the woman would not have urinated openly in the CIQ complex if she had another choice.

Instead, Leong recommended that clear signs and directions be put up in the CIQ complex at BSI to direct travellers to public toilets.

He’s right, you know? If travellers didn’t know better, they couldn’t Google Maps their way to the toilet either.

Leong emphasised the importance of this when considering more elderly travellers or “someone with a weak bladder” stuck in the notoriously long queues at Johor immigration.

Two Men Allegedly Caught Urinating at CIQ Complex Near Second Link

This isn’t the first time travellers have been reported to give in to nature, so to speak.

Last June, two men were caught urinating openly by a tree near the CIQ complex at the Second Link.

Perhaps it was a hot day, and they figured the tree needed watering…

While it is unclear whether police eventually tracked down the two men, the Iskandar Puteri district police chief had shared at the time of the incident that the Malaysian police were looking for the pair.

With how often such incidents occur, maybe driving tests should start including this scenario as a basic theory question.
