World’s Largest Hotpot Holds 2,000kg Of Soup & Can Feed 56 People At Once

I kid you not.

There is a massive hotpot that’s capable of holding 2,000kg of soup, and feeding 56 people at once.

Crowned the world’s largest hotpot, this baby’s so big it has even entered the Guinness World Records. According to Xinhuanet, it measures 10m in diameter, 1m high and weighs 13 tonnes.

The amazing hotpot, that recently garnered attention at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, China, was put on display among other less prominent machines such as driverless cars and intelligent aircraft.

Created by Morals Village Hot Pot (Dezhuang Group), which is so coincidentally one of the biggest hot pot restaurant chains in Chongqing, the huge hotpot ended up drawing endless curious crowds during its run.

According to sources, it’s intended to be displayed as an item of the intangible cultural heritage of China.

You Want The Light Broth? Or You Want The Soup?

Lest you’re unaware, the hotpot’s way more than just being massive.

It has endless substance too.

Designed such that it’s capable of containing two flavours at the same time, this massive hotpot was filled with half spicy soup and the other half a light broth, just the way you like it in Haidilao or some run-down hotpot place.

56 small tripod pots were also situated on the huge pot, which are apparently meant to symbolise the unity and harmony of the 56 ethnic groups in the country. 56 guests were invited to dine, and singers and dancers gave traditional performances to further enhance the experience.

More than ten kinds of imported food materials were used, including cattle trip from New Zealand, Indian chillies, Canadian seafood, German beef lard, and beef from Australia and Brazil.

According to World Of Buzz, the world’s biggest hotpot can contain 2,000 kilograms of hotpot seasoning with 200 kilograms of peppers and 500 kilograms of chilli for the soup.

It requires 220 kilowatts to be powered up.
