It doesn’t feel like it has been very long since the virus first made global headlines in December.
In fact, it felt like just yesterday that I was writing about this mysterious, pneumonia-like virus that was spreading all over Wuhan, and the first suspected case of the virus.
But it’s a whole other ball game now that the Wuhan virus has reached our sunny shores in the form of not one or two but three confirmed cases.

Wuhan Virus Cases Hit 4 Digit at 1,316 Cases Worldwide with 41 Deaths
Yes, it’s the big four-digit number now despite various measures put into place.
One of them is the massive quarantine covering 13 cities that came into effect in China on Saturday in a desperate bid to try to stop the notorious virus from spreading.
See the thing is, the death toll has already risen to a grand total of 41 deaths.

What’s worse is that the disease has already spread out of China and has arrived in South Asia and Europe.
At the time of writing this article, the total number of confirmed cases in China is 1287, Thailand 5, France 3, Singapore 3, Hong Kong 2, Japan 2, Macau 2, South Korea 2, United States 2, Vietnam 2, Australia 1, Nepal 1, Taiwan 1.
And the latest update: Malaysia now has 3 confirmed cases of the Wuhan Virus.
The grand total is 1316 confirmed cases worldwide.
Transport Ban For 41 Million People
It’s the holiday season in China, but the government has decided to stop all travel out of Wuhan and shut down its public transport.

They have also told residents to stay at home.
This comes after the United States confirmed its second case of the Wuhan virus which has already reached far and wide to almost a dozen countries.
Yes, the situation is serious if you couldn’t already tell but you know sh** gets real when a section of the Great Wall and even Shanghai Disneyland announced temporary closures.

Wuhan Is A Ghost Town
It’s Chinese New Year, so obviously everyone’s visiting their relatives.
It’s a joyous time of the year, but this year, Wuhan was observed to be a “ghost town” with its streets empty and it’s stores closed.

What’s worse, due to the rising cases, there is a bed shortage for the sick in Wuhan.
In response to this, the authorities are scrambling to build a new hospital to cater to the outbreak in just 10 days.
