Xiaomi Clarifies Employee’s Actual Role in Company

Wang Hua, general manager of Xiaomi’s public relations department, dispelled circulating rumours in a 27 Jun post on Chinese social media platform Weibo.

It turns out that the man, surnamed Feng, was not a director but a kitchen staff member whose role was to cut vegetables.

According to Wang, Feng was hired in September 2016 but was fired that November for absenteeism.

The scandal first came to light when Feng’s wife discovered intimate photos and contracts on his mobile phone.

She had initially tolerated his behaviour but decided to go public when she found out he had fathered six to seven children with multiple women.

Detailed “Sugar Daddy Contracts” and Alleged Scam Operations

Feng was rumoured to have signed “sugar daddy contracts” with each of the women. The contracts involved large sums of money, unprotected sex agreements, clauses on BDSM practices, and pre-arranged companionship.

One agreement with a woman surnamed Shen required her to spend four days with him each month for a payment of 100,000 Yuan (~SGD17,788).

The contract included clauses like “drinking holy water” and stated the woman was not allowed to refuse. If she failed to comply, she would have to return 50 per cent of the payment.

Another contract, signed with a woman surnamed Li, required 72 hours of companionship for a lump sum of one million Yuan (~SGD177,900). That agreement included a clause stating she must not interfere with Feng’s family life.

The women were mostly influencers, university or overseas students, not professional sex workers.

Feng had also signed a “marriage without fidelity” contract with his wife.

The agreement stated that he was allowed to engage in extramarital affairs, as long as he remained truthful to his wife about these affairs with “little girlfriends”.

Following Wang’s response on Weibo, it was revealed in a Weibo post that Feng could be a scammer who manipulated these women and did not actually pay them the promised amount of money.

He had allegedly even spent these women’s money, betting on the fact that they wouldn’t make a police report against him.

Feng was also involved in a private lending dispute in 2021 and was asked to pay 165,000 Yuan (~SGD29,000) to a woman.
