Students and staff at Xinmin Secondary School were briefly evacuated on Thursday morning, 13 August, after the school was alerted to a potential bomb threat.
The police searched the Hougang school but found no suspicious items, according to a notification sent by the school to parents and seen by CNA.
Everyone was accounted for and safe. Students and staff subsequently returned to their classrooms, and regular lessons resumed.
Evacuation began at about 8.30am
The school said it activated its evacuation procedures at about 8.30am after learning of the potential threat.
CNA said it had contacted the police, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs for more information.
Similar false threat occurred in 2022
The incident comes four years after Evergreen Secondary School in Woodlands received a bomb threat in July 2022.
Students and staff were evacuated in that case, while those who had not arrived were told to remain at home. The police searched the school and found no threat items.
Then Education Minister Chan Chun Sing subsequently said the threat had been determined to be false. The police said at the time that a male teenager was assisting with investigations.
