Not all Singapore Pools outlets were created equal.
And if you know how huat an outlet can get, you know.
As for the Singaporeans who frequent Singapore Pools, most of them will probably know that the beloved TOTO outlet at 7-Eleven Yishun Ring Road has brought about much huat for the punters who frequent it.
However, this iconic part of the Yishun neighbourhood has ended its operations.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the closure of the store came eight years after producing 10 jackpot winners and 38 Group 2 winners in TOTO draws.
And if that isn’t huat enough for you, here’s another statistic.
Over the past five years, tickets from this outlet have allowed Singaporeans to win a total of over $25 million in prize money.
Pretty sure you can’t beat that, even after giving those investment agents 40 seconds of your life and then doing everything they say to make you richer.
More than 50% of the prize money came from iTOTO Quick Pick System 12 Entries, including the jackpot winner who won $4,719,169 for the 26 September 2019 draw.
So Why Did the Outlet Close Down?
No, it didn’t close because Singapore Pools is running out of money lah.
The outlet has shut down due to the fact that the new Chong Pang integrated hub will be set up in that very area, causing shops in the area to close down.
The new Chong Pang community hub, Chill @ Chong Pang, will comprise a rooftop swimming pool, a gym, fitness centres and hawker centres.
Swimming pool for you to cry in your tears after losing? Just kidding.

However, if you’re still itching to take a lucky shot at TOTO, don’t fret. Although you won’t be able to visit the outlet at Block 102 Yishun Avenue 5 anymore, 7-Eleven has put up a notice that they’ll be moving to the block right next to it, Block 103.
No one knows for sure if the new outlet will be just as huat, but hey, it’s just a block’s difference. It shouldn’t differ too much, right?
