For those of you who’re curious about how the show will run without Yoo Jae Suk, you’ll have a preview of it soon…without subscribing to Disney+.
Here’s what you need to know.
Running Man’s Yoo Jae Suk Tested Positive for COVID-19
On 13 Dec 2021, it was confirmed that South Korea’s national MC, Yoo Jae Suk, has contracted COVID-19.
According to Soompi, Yoo was identified as a close contact of a confirmed case on 11 Dec 2021.
He took a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test immediately and tested negative.
However, because he’s a close contact, he has to be monitored manually.
On the morning of 13 Dec 2021, Yoo took another test and the results came back positive.
Avoided a Running Man Filming
According to SBS, the broadcasting station behind the global variety show, Running Man, Yoo Jae Suk did not attend the filming on 13 Dec 2021.
“Yoo Jae Suk did not attend today’s filming (December 13) because there was a suspicion that he could have COVID-19 during the self-diagnosis examination before filming began.”
They filmed without Yoo Jae Suk on that day but has not decided on the plans for future filming.
In other words, there is a possibility that Running Man might, in the interim, proceed without Yoo Jae Suk.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that fans of Running Man would have to deal with the show pausing while waiting for the main host of the show to return.
According to the South Korea Ministry of Health and Welfare website, confirmed cases would only be discharged after a minimum of ten days.

Dotori Festival Affected
Fans of How Do You Play (Hangout With Yoo) would’ve been excited about the Dotori Festival which was planned for 15 Dec 2021.
Basically, it’s an event where Yoo and the other casts of the show invite singers who were popular in the 2000s to hold a concert together.
The production staff of the show said that the event is now impossible to carry out, and attendees are being informed.
“We have decided that it is now impossible to carry out the ‘Dotori Festival’ as we had planned on December 15.
“We are contacting all those who were selected to attend, and we will release further information about the new schedule once the safety of our audience and artists can be assured.”
All crew members and cast are also getting tested for the virus.
“Like the viewers, the production staff of ‘How Do You Play?’ will wait patiently and follow the COVID-19 guidelines faithfully until the day that Yoo Jae Suk can make his healthy return to filming.”
This week’s episode, however, will continue airing as usual.
