It’s the middle of the month. Bubble tea supplies are running low in my body.

With my Asian blood made primarily of Bubble Tea and brown sugar, how can this be? What will happen to me now that my lifeline is basically gone?

It must have been those stupid spending habits. I knew the Nicholas Cage pillow was a stupid thing to buy, dammit.

Look at you now, what are you going to do for your daily fluid, huh?

What are you going to drink? Water? Pfffttt.

As I cut my survival fluid budget, I then came across this ray of hope.

S$2.50 Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk & S$1.60 Royal Earl Grey Milk Tea

S$2.50? That’s like half the price of other bubble tea. Eh you don’t come cheat my money and feeling can or not? Fake news also fake better can not!

But oh… it’s real.

And this is what it actually looks like…

Next year, after upgrading renovation, the stall even plans to introduce another flavour… gula melaka fresh milk with white pearls.

Can this get even better…?

Oh… Yes It Can

People are saying that the 25-year-old stall owner looks so good that people mistake him for a Korean or Taiwanese star.

Or maybe it’s just a selling point purported by the media. I’m not sure.

But hey, guy’s good looking either way:

He looks like some Korean star who just got divorced. Song…Song something. Song Song Song, I think. Can’t think well when bubble tea juice is low in my body.

Apparently, Jack Neo regularly patronises his stall, and even buys his Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk in bulk:

And if you thought I just mentioned his looks and Jack Neo for fun… Jack Neo actually asked him to audition for his shows.

Story Behind The Tea

BeauTea is operated by Zhen Yang, who was born in China. But he’s been here since he was 9 years old, and is a full-fledged PR who served NS.

Although he had good grades (3.9 GPA) for the Automation & Mechatronic Systems diploma at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, he wanted to set up his own business so he can retire early. He grew an interest in bubble tea while serving NS (??? nowadays army camps give bubble tea as night snacks or what?) and went to Shenzhen to learn the skills from his friend.

What 8days managed to probe is that he can sell about 300 to 400 cups a day, but hawker costs are relatively low and less competitive than malls, so the shift to a hawker is natural.

His mom sells coffee and tea opposite his stall, but since those are different drinks, it doesn’t feel like a competition.

So I guess… I’ll be seeing you there for the half-priced bubble teas.
