You Can Now Find Yolé Yoghurt in 7-Eleven & It’s Only 73 Calories Per 100ml

Yolé? Olé?

Say what?

Just kidding, you would’ve heard of Yolé unless you’re living under a rock. #Unrelatable

In this day and age, a good brand name is just as important as naming your child to avoid becoming a laughing stock.

For instance, the classic Monica Cheng (which directly translates to touch your bottom) and Nelson Tan (which translates literally to bird lays eggs).

You can read up on more funny  names to tickle your pickle, and prepare yourself for the first step of parenthood here.

Seems like Hollywood caught on to this baffling trend as well, with one of the “Bandslam” characters named Sa5m who goes around telling everyone “the 5 is silent”.

On a more serious note, everyone is getting too creative with their branding. First LLaollao, then Yolé decides to follow suit.

Yolé

Famous for their seasonal flavors such as Coconut and Strawberry, the popular frozen yogurt (froyo) chain originated from Europe with outlets in Taiwan and Singapore.

They have been in the local froyo scene since December 2017, following the sudden exit of well-loved brand, Llaollao. Similar to Llaollao, Yolé offers froyo (with a wider range of flavors) with the option of toppings and sauce, in addition to smoothies; all of which are sold at an identical price range.

Why Llaollao was initially replaced by Yolé

Speaking of Llaollao, I never really knew what led to the entrance of Yolé and the disputes between both companies. Not until today.

Apparently, there were differing views between the franchisor in Spain and Singapore.

After conducting market research, the Llaollao franchisor in Singapore discovered that the locals wanted to have more options regarding yogurt flavors. However, the Spain franchisor couldn’t see eye to eye with the Singapore franchisor and took a step further to restrict them from increasing their product offerings. This gave rise to Yolé’s entrance with strawberry-flavoured youghurt by the previous franchisor of Llaollao.

If I’m being completely honest, I wouldn’t be able to differentiate the original-flavored yogurt from both brands as well as Coke and Pepsi. Is it just me?

But now, Yolé has taken it up a notch…by making their products much more accessible.

How accessible? 24/7 accessible in your neighbourhood.

Yolé Ice Cream Tubs Available in 7-Eleven for S$4.50

On the topic of ice cream, someone once said that the best way to identify the grade of a restaurant’s buffet is via their ice cream brand; the more atas the dessert, the better the buffet.

What do you think? While there may be some truth to this, I feel that it definitely differs across restaurants. I guess you get what you pay for.

In case you haven’t heard, a quick search online shows that on average, a regular frozen yogurt melts faster than ice cream. Same difference because it doesn’t matter with temperatures in Singapore reaching an all time high this year. My makeup melts the minute I leave the house, what more something that has been frozen?

“Say no more”, the all-knowing wise man from Yolé.

Seems like Yolé understand what’s going on because they have been selling ice cream versions (okay, it’s yogurt but same same but different) of their OG flavor in 7-Eleven stores across Singapore. Here’s the best part: you can now finish the entire tub guilt-free because it contains only 73 Kcal per 100ml!

People say money can’t buy happiness but you can get a tub of healthy “ice cream” for S$4.50. That’s happiness right there.

In comparison, a typical ice-cream would have at least 100 calories.

So if you’ve the intention to binge-watch a Netflix drama tonight and can’t start without a tub of ice-cream, you know where to go…even if it’s 2:00 a.m.
