Are you using an iPhone? Are you using WhatsApp? If the answer is “Yes” to both questions, read on to find out what we are so excited about!

WhatsApp has recently launched a new version on the Apple App Store and those of you who have doubts about the update should upgrade right now because it has a total of 5 new cool features to make your chat even better.
Here’s the low down on the 5 major features newly released.

Choose a picture

iphone 1

Remember how you need to download that picture that is saved in Dropbox but you wanted to send to your friends via WhatsApp? Now you do not have to. WhatsApp has done some tweaking to enhance our photo sharing experience. There is now a new “Choose from another app” option when you open the photo browser in WhatsApp. You can easily choose from iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive to send the photo you wanted. Just remember to enable the connection between these and WhatsApp.

Share PDF Documents

WhatsApp now allows you to send PDF documents to your friends. Simply choose the “Share Document” option after opening up the browser. This function allows you to send from apps such as iCloud, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox.

New Solid Colour Background

Ever feel frustrated when you realised that the picture you have used to replace the WhatsApp background is hindering you from reading your messages properly? There is a solution now. WhatsApp has launched new solid colours background to spice up your chat rooms. Just go to Settings -> Chats and find the colours that suits your taste.

New Video Playback Feature
Feeling frustrated when watching a video and not being able to see what is going on in the background clearly? Fret not, for WhatsApp now lets you zoom into a video during playback. This is similar to the function that Apple launched for its iOS 9. It is really useful at times when you want to have a closer view of your video during playback time.

Resolving your storage issue
The previous update that WhatsApp launched gave some of us iPhone users a big headache by taking up a large amount of space in our iPhones. I was one of the victims who got a “warning” from my iPhone that it’s full. With this new update, this issue is resolved (thank God). This update also fixed a number of crashes within the app itself.

This version might have been a celebration to commemorate its achievement of having 1 billion active users to make WhatsApp the most popular messaging app. Well, at least that is my opinion! Enjoy the new features in WhatsApp and feel free to share if you have found other cool stuff on WhatsApp.
