Young Brothers Brutally Murdered While Collecting Durians in Indonesian Orchard

Two brothers, aged 4 and 8, were found dead at a durian orchard in Indonesia’s Lampung province on 14 May 2025.

The children, identified as AT (8) and KK (4), had gone to collect durians but never returned home, triggering a search that ended in tragedy when their bodies were discovered with multiple slash wounds.

Young Children’s Durian Collection Trip Ends in Tragedy

The two brothers had asked their parents for permission to gather durians from a nearby orchard at Dusun Teba Langgar in Pesisir Utara, Sumatra.

When they failed to return by evening, their worried parents raised the alarm.

Local villagers joined the search effort for the missing children.

“When they didn’t come back by evening, the parents raised the alarm and villagers helped launch a search,” said Pesisir Barat police chief AKBP Bestiana.

The search ended around 10:30pm when the brothers’ bodies were discovered in a ravine-like area of the durian orchard.

In a heartbreaking scene, the children were found laying in each other’s arms.

Police Investigation Reveals Brutal Attack on Young Victims

Authorities found the brothers’ bodies with wounds across their bodies, with slash marks particularly concentrated on their heads and limbs.

Police believe the children were attacked with a sharp weapon.

One of the siblings had his arm severed, which was left at the crime scene.

“This is clearly a homicide case. We are in the midst of collecting evidence and identifying the perpetrator,” said Senior Commissioner Pahala Simanjuntak, Head of the Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Department.

The police have yet to determine a motive for the killings.

The investigation remains active as authorities work to solve this case that has shocked the local community.
