In the past, we only need to worry about road bullies. Today, we need to look out for pavement bullies too.
Yes, selected e-scooter and e-bike riders, I’m talking about you.
Riding like the king of the pavements, then hitting people who annoyed you. Some might think you’re living in the wild wild west era.
But before ranting about reckless e-scooters and e-bike riders, let’s look at a viral video first. Or two.
Three Young S’porean Girls Slapping One Girl, True Story Revealed?
If you watched plenty of Korean drama, you’ll find this scene familiar.
The second female lead bullies the female lead, with the help of powerful (or in this case, just) friends behind them.
Introducing…the latest video (or drama) that happened in Singapore. All because of a guy name Nigel.
As well as her friend
So what is it all about?
From the one minute video, the girls are talking about a guy named Nigel, and how she (the one that gets slapped) shouldn’t lie.
“This is how you talk to Nigel, I told you not to mess with Nigel! [slap]”
“So now you’re taking my words for granted, right? You messed with the wrong f*cking person leh! [slap]”
That’s all you can get from the video, but there’s more.
Whatsapp Screenshot of “Nigel” Explaining the situation
The backstory appears via a series of Instagram stories by youtiao.help Instagram account.
The messages in white speech bubbles are Nigel’s responses.
Long story short:
- Nigel and Raine (girl getting slapped) like each other.
- Raine flirts with other guys after confessing to him and got together with Aaron, making this a triangle
- Even when she was with Aaron, she allegedly still flirts with Nigel
- Nigel told his BFF, Corliss (aka the slapper) about this, who is friend with Aaron
- Raine broke up with Aaron
- Cue the slapping incident
And the slapper has stepped forward to apologise
In short, both girls have “talked it out” and things are “settled”.
She hopes that the video will stop trending.
Although I do want to know why this footage was even recorded in the first place? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Violent E-Bike Rider Whack Elderly Pedestrian After Beating Red Light
His name is Yue Kim Ming, 63 years old, and he beat up a 69-year-old man along Hougang Ave 7 last year in May.
According to reports, he was speeding at the speed of 30 to 40 km/h. (P/S: the speed limit for e-bikes is 25km/h.)
Even though it’s red light, he just chiong ahead, sounding his horn at two elderly pedestrians crossing the road at that time.
When Yue whizzed by the old man, Chang Yeo Peo, who was unable to react in time, raised his arms to prevent the bag from hitting Yue.
Instead of feeling thankful, he got off his e-bike and claimed that Mr Chang hit him.
In anger, he punched Mr Chang in his face and chest, making him fall to the ground.
He continued beating on the elderly until bystanders stopped him.
Mr Chang suffered injuries to his forehead near his eyes and pain in his upper chest.
Yeo was jailed for 5 weeks, 2 weeks lesser than what the prosecution requested for.
His lawyer said that his client wanted to write an apology letter, pay for the medical fees and a compensation of $1,000, but was rejected.
By the way, Yue could have been jailed up to two years and fined for his actions. And for committing a rash act, he could have been jailed a maximum of 6 months and fined up to S$2,500.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
NSF Who Died From Heat Injuries Was A ‘Good Boy’
On 2 May, late NSF Dave Lee Han Xuan’s parents told the media about what Dave was like.
He was a good boy.
And the things his mother remembers the most is about the hugs and kisses Dave would give his mother before leaving for camp or after coming back home.
And how the mother and son will hold hands while shopping outside.
He is respectful and will always try to help out with the family.
On Friday, the family decided to donate his organs because they want him to contribute his best at his final moments. His cornea was donated and they hope the person receiving them can see the world together with Dave.
At this moment, they’re not going to focus on finding answers.
Instead, they’re going to focus on sending him off properly.
Independent Committee of Inquiry in NSF’s Death, Chaired By MOE Cluster Superintendent
Tension is running high in Singapore again.
Another person died during training in the SAF. Add in the fact that the aunts are on a righteous quest for answers and a Facebook post allegedly explaining what happened.
And you have a keg of explosives just waiting to blow everyone sky high.
Let’s take things one at a time. First, the update of the Committee of Inquiry set up to investigate the case.
The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said that the Committee of Inquiry (COI) set up to investigate the circumstances of Dave Lee is well underway.
The COI will be led by a cluster superintendent from the Ministry of Education (MOE). Plus, the COI will include a medical specialist from the public healthcare sector.
In addition, the police will be conducting their own investigations as well.
Netizens, of course, are not really happy about this.
But that’s not the only interesting thing about this case.
Now, take note that the following point is an allegation about what happened in the case. Whether it’s true or not, depends on what the Committee of Inquiry and the police find.
Viral Facebook Post Say What Allegedly Happened During The Collapse Of NSF Dave Lee on 18 Apr
In a post by Cecilia Yeo, the aunt of the deceased NSF, she said that she has seen a post circulating on Facebook about what allegedly happened during her nephew’s collapse.
She hopes that SAF will release information about the full investigation to the public, including the identities of the culprits in this incident.
Allegedly written by a fellow soldier in 1 Guard, he observed that there were several different violations on the day of Dave’s collapse.
Illegal Turnout
The night before that fateful 8km fast march, his entire recce platoon was turned out after lights out, and they were forced to bear crawl to the SOC grounds.
The sergeants forced them to roll in the sand and water was poured on them. As a result, the soldiers didn’t get their required 7 hours of rest.
Trainees Forced To Complete The Fast March
He claimed that during the march, Dave was struggling. Instead of giving him medical attention, the commanders dragged him along, forcing him to complete the march despite his physical exhaustion.
Dave collapsed after he collected his timing chip at the company line.
He was delirious and had his tongue out and only the whites of his eyes could be seen.
Commanders Were Not Able To Spot Heat Exhaustion
The alleged soldier said that they could see Dave going through heat exhaustion but commanders thought that he was pretending to be unwell, or assumed that his condition wasn’t severe.
The commanders did not observe the proper procedure for dealing with heat injuries.
His clothes weren’t removed and they did not place ice pack at vital heat dissipation points on his body.
The medical officer couldn’t be found and Dave’s body was left under the hot sun for more than half an hour before he was taken to the medical centre.
Then transported to the hospital.
Commanders Didn’t Take The Situation Seriously
It was claimed that the sergeants were joking and laughing around Dave’s collapsed body. They think he’s pretending.
The post ended off with identifying several sergeants involved in the case.
And a plea for SAF to thoroughly investigate the incident and that punishment is meted out fairly.
You can read the post in full here, which has since garnered over 5.8K Shares.
Fire at Bedok South HDB Kills One Woman, Allegedly Caused By Fire From The Altar
On 2 May, it was reported that a fire broke out at one of the units in Blk 18 of Bedok South Road.
The incident happened on Monday (30 Apr) night.
Residents saw smoke and fire billowing out from the unit and heard a woman screaming for help.
The screams persisted for fifteen minutes before ending abruptly.
A 44-year-old man, John, had attempted to rush into the unit to rescue the woman but he and another man were not able to force the metal gates open.
The windows were locked and the fire was spreading and the would-be rescuers were forced to back off.
When SCDF reached the scene and extinguished the fire, they found the body of a 60-year-old woman.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Guo, a resident and the man who tried to force open the doors with John said he smelled something burning on that day.
When he peeked into the flat, he saw that a fire had broken out at the altar within the unit. At that time, the fire was still contained.
They shouted into the unit but didn’t receive any responses.
It was suspected that the woman, who wakes up at 5 am every day, was asleep during the incident.
Police investigations are ongoing.
